Statement from CADEM Regional Directors on Allegations Against Congressman Eric Swalwell
We are deeply concerned by the serious allegations of sexual harassment and assault involving Congressman Eric Swalwell. Allegations of this nature require accountability and a clear commitment to the standards expected of those in positions of leadership.
Public officials must uphold a higher standard. Supporting survivors and ensuring safe, respectful environments must be reflected in action, especially in difficult moments. Many survivors are forced to endure these horrific experiences in silence. Those who come forward must be heard and able to seek justice without fear of reprisals.
Given the seriousness of these allegations, we call on Congressman Swalwell to withdraw from the race for Governor.
